Main goal of this project is to create tools (especially the Dummy head) to capture binaural records and to gather sufficient knowledge to synthetise such records. If you want to be quickly introduced, simply put on headphones and listen to this:

Main idea is that you have only two ears, so all you need to reproduce 3D sound are stereo headphones.
